You will become incredibly powerful if you learn to master your emotions

Stay calm and detached. Be conscious about now. About what you feel. Physically and emotionally. The chair on which you sit, the ground on which you stand, the air that you breath, the pulse of your blood through your veins. And the feeling of elation, of fear, of sadness, of joy. Emotions can be used productively. Every emotion can be put to good use. But we must not get swept away by our emotions. This can be achieved by accepting. Accept yourself. Accept your emotions. Accept your situation. Prisoners in Japanese prisons have a very harsh life, where they are not allowed to sit on their bed, lean against the radiator and are forced to sit on the ground in their cell for hours each day. If they don't accept their fate, they would go mad.

Track your goals

Example: Losing Weight by tracking calories

Losing weight is possible for everyone. Just live in a calorie deficit. But many people still struggle with this.

My friends only really started to lose weight when they were tracking their calories.

There are two sides of this.

  1. Progress measurement: Obese people don't know how much they actually have to eat. Their body doesn't tell them correctly: "I have eaten enough. Please don't give me more." This point comes far too late for them. So actually seeing how many calories they have consumed each day helps obese people to understand that they should stop for today. Of course, if they are fat, they wouldn't need to eat much for weeks and months, and just get some vitamins and drink water. But obese people think they would starve when they go on a diet. Seeing the number of calories they have consumed each day, and an authority (the app) telling them: "You will not starve. Stop for today." helps them.
  2. Engagement: By constantly writing down the calories that you consumed, you are always reminded of your goal of losing weight, and not to overdo it with food.

Track Habits for everything

Living consciously is not only helping you to stop overeating. You can track how much time you spend on social media each day. How much really productive time you invest.

Meditate

Meditation is not about being mindful for 10 minutes a day. It is about living mindful and consciously the whole day. Active meditation is only a ceremony to remind ourselves of living consciously.
